Qualifications:
▪ Appropriate Degree (or similar 4-year diploma) in primary school education.
▪ Registered with SACE.
▪ Experience teaching in a Quintile 5 school will be an advantage.
▪ Profi cient in Afrikaans, and able to teach Afrikaans FAL effectively.
▪ Good knowledge of the Gr7 Afrikaans CAPS curriculum.
▪ Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
▪ Works effectively in a high-functioning, demanding environment.
▪ Adequate ICT and e-learning skills.
▪ Good interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
▪ Upholds the professional image of the teaching profession.
▪ Has good discipline strategies and techniques.
▪ Values are in line with the values at HPS.
Key Performance Areas:
▪ To take a register class with all the associated duties.
▪ To prepare lessons, teach effectively, plan and administer the assessment of learners with all the associated duties.
▪ To participate in required extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
▪ To provide extra support to learners who are struggling and extra extension to learners who are excelling.
▪ To work with the School-Based Support Team to cater for the educational welfare of learners.
▪ To collaborate and communicate with teachers, management, parents and learners effectively.
