The Intersen phase includes learners in Grades 4, 5 and 6. There are 5 classes in each grade. This phase is headed up by Mrs Bosch. Learners in the intersen phase should all be able to read as they now start learning subjects – they read to learn. This phase consists of the following learning areas:
- English
- Afrikaans
- Mathematics
- Life Skills
- Natural Sciences and Technology
- Social Sciences (History and Geography)
Learners will write formal assessments (tests) each term and these will form part of their reports which are handed out at the end of each term.
In addition, learners participate in Coding & Digital Literacy, Physical Education and Library every week.
Hurlyvale Primary School Senior Phase
The Senior phase includes learners in Grade 7. There are 5 classes in grade 7. This phase is headed up by Mrs Bosch and consists of the following learning areas:
- English
- Afrikaans
- Mathematics
- Life Orientation
- Natural Sciences and Technology
- Social Sciences (History and Geography)
- EMS
- Creative Art
- Technology
Learners will write formal assessments (tests) each term and these will form part of their reports which are handed out at the end of each term.
In addition, learners participate in Physical Education and Coding & Digital Literacy every week.
